Zinfandel

The Lone Star (TX) Chapter met on February 28th at the Wine Down Wine Market in Flower Mound, TX. The theme for the evening was “Zinfandels”. Approximately 28 members and guests attended the tasting, hosted by Stan and Janet Atteberry, and Terri Jones. Thomas Gray, the Market’s resident Manager/Chef/Sommelier, carefully selected each of the five zinfandels that we tasted. Thomas had a desire to have us taste zinfandels from many different regions of the world and many different climates. Thomas took us on a very interesting journey, presenting the zinfandels to us from lowest alcohol content to the highest and providing excellent details about the wine and winery. It was fascinating how the alcohol affected the taste and the mouthfeel of each wine tasted. As usual, our hosts did an outstanding job in coordinating hosting our event and a great time was had by all.
